Red Mountain/San Luis, CO
San Luis, Colorado was home to the first public works project in CO known at the "People's Ditch." A picturesque little town that lies feet of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, to the south and east of San Pedro Mesa with San Luis Hills to the west, and the San Juan Mountains as a backdrop with Blanca Massif to the north. San Luis was part of the Sangre de Cristo Land Grant and is the oldest surviving settlement in Colorado.
